strange time of day for me
yeah, i'm writing at nearly 2 in the afternoon... crazy eh?

i'm bored, and since Sammer no longer has access during the day, i'm somewhat lonely. so here i sit waiting for some work things to hit my inbox and wondering what to do until my stupid meeting at 3 which i have to leave early so i can push data into a prod region and delete some other stuff from the same region.

what a circus!

then of course i'm sitting here thinking about how the rest of the night is going to go. i get out of here, "shoot home" (which will probably take close to an hour and a half at the hour i'll be leaving), go to the gym, go shopping for T-day food since we have to have T-day at our place now. make the house parent-safe.

i'm tired just thinking about it.

yesterday was a long day. there was a fire at His parent's house and His mom called me in the middle of the day to let me know. she couldn't get ahold of Him, so i called another number and managed to get Him. He came to get me and off we went to check on the situation. it looked awful at the angle we first saw it at when we parked but we came to find out that basically only one whole room was lost for the most part. it could have been a LOT worse. but the day was filled with trying to comfort His mom and make sure they had what they needed from the house and discussing what was in that room that may have been lost.

i am amazed at the large claims guy who was on site running the "rehab" show. the cleaners were there before 3 to pick up all clothes and shoes and bed clothes and anything that could possibly need dry cleaning. plumber was due, electrician had been called. the boarding-up guys were there in a blink to board up all the windows that had been broken. it all happened so fast.

they're out of the house for 6 to 8 months though, which is horrible. currently they have to stay in a hotel but they got a very nice room. a suite in fact with a small microwave and mini-fridge. it's not home but at least it's not a dive.

so T-day has been switched from their place to ours and so now we have to prep for everyone (FUN!) i think it will be good. apartment has been relatively clean since BR anyway so there's not a lot of cleaning to do, just some tidying and parent-proofing. we should be good to go :)

more critmas shopping was done this weekend. andrea and i haunted the halls of the mall and i bought my spoiled mom more stuff. i may need to buy her a bigger stocking so i can fit the stuff in a stocking because i don't intend on getting her anything too large. i've got some tricks up my sleeve though... i'm good for that.

*yawns* it's going to be a LOOOOOONG meeting! these company meetings are almost always a bore. they talk about the financial health of our company, the pipeline, about what jobs they are shipping off-shore next (always a crowd pleaser)... just drudgery. but the boss requires us to be there and so... i'll be there until i have to leave to come back here and make changes to databases.

anywho, back to the grind. maybe i'll go for a small stroll all the way around my office (inside, not out) to try and wake myself up a little... zzzZZZZzzz
